Don’t get me wrong, even with such a strong and hilarious ensemble — Jamie Demetriou is the star of the show; Created one of the most ridiculous TV characters ever with Stas.

From iconic mockumentaries to biting political satire, these comedies have it all.
Jamie Demetriou’s role as Stas is ridiculously funny.
Stas’ comedic genius lies in both his strange use of language and his clumsy physicality. His stiff yet wavering body language is magical to watch, looking like a ball of pent-up energy. He constantly trips, falls, and bumps into things. He may have stopped to drink a bottle of water and somehow accidentally dropped half of the water on the floor.
Through mixed metaphors and jumbled English and Greek dialects, Everything Stas says sounds like nonsense.. He refers to a “shoulder to talk to” rather than a “shoulder to cry on.” When he wants to share a drink with a friend, he says, “Let’s share life.” The words “It means the world and his wife to me” do not make any sense, but Demetriou’s deadpan statement makes these endless strange moments the basis of his performance . Stas seems to be living in a delusional reality of his own making.and it’s great.
Stas also struggles socially in all aspects, seemingly not knowing when to take natural pauses and often speaking above or below others. When showing prospective tenants around the property, Stas uses unfunny jokes to break the ice, but it’s clear he doesn’t know anything about housing as he focuses on small, inconsequential features. At one moment he chases a pigeon inside the house, fails to catch it, and destroys everything in the house. It’s painfully funny to witness.
‘Stath Lets Flats’ is so stupid that it borders on hilarious
Stas’ Greek-Cypriot heritage is often at the forefront of his comedy, breaking stereotypes in a loving and personal way, with Stas and his family speaking their own unique outlook on life almost in their own language. One of the funniest moments is in the episode “A Actually Good Person” where the group appears on the local Greek Internet TV show “Speak Greek”. They’re all very stiff and clunky, and while the green screen technology fails miserably, Vasos only appears as a floating head and no one acknowledges it. It’s really stupid and offensive in every way and it’s hilarious.
The bombardment of stupidity is what really heightens the show’s humor. Every line, every moment, I can’t help but laugh. The situation is ridiculous right in front of my eyes.. As the season progresses, Stas’ relationships with his coworkers and family grow, and the show becomes more emotionally grounded, but it still never feels realistic. The disdain his colleagues and rivals have for him serves to emphasize his ridiculousness, and his youthful, nonsensical responses in response provide further humor. It’s endless stupidity and always hysterical.
Stas is such a strange, awkward, uncomfortable person in his own skin that there’s a fine balance between laughing at him and pitying him. What makes this show great is that even though Stas is the worst person, the audience can sympathize with him. It’s slapstick, it’s disgusting, it’s absurd, it’s satire, it’s character comedy. Starets Flat Reach all points of comedy And so on.
