The new season of the popular reality competition show started with a bang, with many couples scoring over 20 on their first turn.
Then things got interesting and I lost two stars instead of one to begin with.
Of course, fans now have their favorites supporting their favorite Olympians, reality stars, and even convicts.
But someone having to go home and the next contestant being eliminated from the competition probably wouldn’t have been such a shock, to be honest. (Don’t worry, there will be time later.
Who went home on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tonight?
On the dance floor, it was another double whammy. And this time, the younger two actually went home.
Reginald VelJohnson, Emma Slater, Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart performed their last dance on October 8th.
Eric said of working with Britt Stewart, “I’ve never had a better work experience in my entire professional life.”
Meanwhile, Emma Slater gave Karl Winslow — yes, that’s his name, come here — a hug as she left the floor. “I won because I made new friends here,” she said before they left.
Who went home last week?
Last week, as the world focused on the vice presidential debate, the program was postponed for a week.
That’s also why the first week was double elimination. A lot of people were betting on Eric Roberts and Carl Winslow, and well, Reginald took the win, but in the end they both came out safe.
No, it was the women who ended up on the chopping block. Tori Spelling and Anna Delvey, who fans wanted out immediately, were both kicked to the curb.
That was probably a good thing. When Julianne Hough asked Anna what she would miss about this experience, her answer said it all.
“Nothing,” Anna answered.
Obviously, Anna doesn’t have time for that. Anna doesn’t have time for you.
However, I feel sorry for Tori-san. It would have been a good boost for his comeback.
Last week’s top score
The dancers brought a lot of soul to the first performance of the week. On Monday, the gang took to the floor for Soul Train Night, and things pretty much stayed as they were.
Chandler Kinney and his partner Brandon Armstrong stayed at the front of the pack, winning three sets of nines to finish in first place.
Jen Tran and Sasha Farber made a surprising jump to second place with 35 points for their ode to “Fallin’.” Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson then completed a backflip for third place.
So for now, it’s the Bachelor Nation contestant who should lose!
Even more surprising was the continued growth of Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater, who actually made Carrie Ann cry in Foxtrot. But it was they who cried in the end, because the score did not cause the same joy.
But the last one standing was once again Eric Roberts and his partner Britt Stewart. He just couldn’t see his feet, so to speak.
How the score is calculated
Here’s how scoring works: Winners and losers are determined based on the sum of judges’ scores and audience votes. Therefore, the scores given to contestants by Bruno, Carrie-Anne, and Derek will only count toward 50% of their total score.
The remaining 50% is calculated from viewer votes. Fans can vote to save their favorite couples online or via text message. The person with the lowest total score is excluded.
Now, the show had an element called “The Judge’s Save.” Executive producer Deena Katz told TVLine that the judges’ saves, which have been in place since season 28, were visible to the public, at least. dancingcreative team reduces the impact of audience voting.
“I think it should be about America,” Katz said. “And at the end of the day, sometimes Judge’s saves aren’t what America wanted. And [eliminations are based on] Half the judges and half the Americans voted, and that’s kind of why we did this. ”
Who will win this season’s Dancing with the Stars?
After 33 seasons, it might seem easy to find a winner among the losers from the first dance.
But historically, the star with the highest score in the first dance rarely ends up winning it all. Last season, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy tied for fifth place after the first dance. And Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev placed third following their first routine two years earlier.
After everything was over, everyone walked away with a mirror ball trophy.
So, who will win this year? Predict the top three: Jen Tran, Steven Nedrosik, and Chandler Kinney.
But I’ll leave myself open to changing my mind as the season progresses.
