In recent weeks, witcher‘ cast and crew were filming in several locations around Llanberis in North Wales, particularly in and around Lough Padarn. We were lucky enough to get some photos of Liam Hemsworth, Laurence Fishburne, and more.
The Witcher films pre-battle scenes in North Wales
One of the scenes captured on camera by a North Wales local showed Geralt, played by Liam Hemsworth, on a barge on Lake Padarn with an unlikely group of friends. However, in the movie, the lake is not a lake but a river. In the books, Geralt and friends commandeer a boat and sail along the river until they embark on an armed conflict between the Northern Army and Nilfgaard. Geralt and Cahil join the fight and later assist the Northern side in a battle known as the “Battle of the Bridge”.
This scene was filmed in the final two episodes of season 4, and most of Geralt’s companions were seen there. Laurence Fishburne‘s Regis, Zhang Meng’er‘s Milva and Eamonn Farren‘s Cairo. Jaskier, played by Joey Beatty, was not caught on camera. In addition, for the first time we saw Danny Woodburn as a fan favorite Zoltan Chivay:
back to england Before Wales, witcher Scenes were being filmed at various locations in Bourne Woods, Surrey. Most notable was a scene with Ciri, played by Freya Allan, which was caught on camera. Siri is seen riding a horse. Not very insightful.
In other Ciri news, Redanian Intelligence reported that Freya Arlan filmed a torture scene in which Ciri is seen in a battered and dire condition. Presumably this is after she is captured by the ruthless bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, played by South African actor Sharlto Copley.
What is the production status? witcher When will season 4 be released?
As of early October 2024, witcher According to lead actor Liam Hemsworth, there are three weeks left of filming for Season 4. He recently appeared on Live With Kelly and Mark and talked about his schedule:
“After this week’s shoot, there are about three weeks left. So, it’s now been about 8 months since we started filming. We take another three weeks off, then about four months, then come back the next year for another eight months.“
Netflix does not provide a release window witcher It’s season 4, but given when it ends, it seems like it could be released in the summer or fall. season 3 witcher It ended in September 2022, and Vol. 1 was released in June of the following year. 2 will be released a month later. Translating these schedules into Season 4, we can imagine a July, August, or even September release. So most likely in Q3 2025.
