The Kansas City Chiefs extended their winning streak to four games on Sunday, but Taylor Swift was once again absent.
When Taylor missed last week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, fans expected her hiatus from the stands to be short.
After all, the pop icon owns a home in Beverly Hills, so L.A.’s SoFi Stadium isn’t much of a trip for her.
Unfortunately, Taylor was absent for the second consecutive week. And fans are starting to suspect that something is wrong.
Taylor Swift misses game against Chiefs for second consecutive year
Travis certainly made his presence felt Sunday with seven receptions for 89 yards.
However, he has not yet been able to deliver the overwhelming performance that fans have come to expect.
This was Travis’ best game of the season by a wide margin. But he has yet to score a touchdown or accumulate triple-digit receiving yards in a game.
The 34-year-old has set a high bar with his performance this past season, and fantasy owners are worried about his relatively lackluster performance in 2024.
Some observers have blamed Taylor for Travis’ woes, but this is patently ridiculous.
These are likely the same people who wanted Taylor banned from NFL games last season.
Are there problems between Taylor and Travis?
And of course, many have pointed out that Taylor and Travis’ “breakup deal” led to them breaking up this week.
In the fake contract, which went viral on social media earlier this week, the couple agreed to end their phased relationship on September 28th.
So is Taylor “soft launching” her breakup with Travis? Almost certainly not.
Truth be told, I don’t know why Taylor hasn’t attended the last two weeks. But that doesn’t stop rumors from flying around.
Travis deals with on-field troubles
The Chiefs are 4-0 and Travis seems to be getting better each week.
But neither the team nor the tight end has been at its best, and Travis spoke about his recent struggles on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast.
“We’re finding ways to win games, but we’re not playing our best football. Anyone can clean it up,” he said, according to Page Six .
Travis went on to say he’s not worried about his individual performance as long as the Chiefs are winning games.
“I’ve had a lot of catches in this league, dude. I’m not worried about catches and yards and all that stuff,” he said.
“I enjoy it the most when I can throw the ball the way I want it. Who doesn’t?” But it’s all about execution and making sure you do everything you can to win the football game. That’s… that’s always the goal. ”
Obviously, no one knows what the future holds. But if I had to guess, Taylor would be back in the stands and Travis would be right back in the end zone.
