As we approach 2025, momentum is building for Stranger Things Season 5. Over the past few days, several pieces of information and some new assets have been released. Let’s take a look back at all the major developments, including the exciting announcement that key characters will be returning for the final season, scheduled to debut in 2025.
There’s a lot to cover, but we’d like to mention in case you missed the show’s last major update back in November, when we got confirmation of all the official episode titles for season five.

Season 5 Netflix UI update reveals new art and new teases
Over the past few days, Netflix’s Stranger Things page has been updated, and the show is now permanently featured in the “Worth the Wait” section of Netflix’s New & Popular category. This includes some new logos and artwork (see embedded below) along with a new supplemental message that reads, “Return to Hawkins for final season in 2025.”
Latest information on shooting
Well, spoiler alert again! In the next few paragraphs, we’ll cover potential spoilers about the upcoming season based on filming updates over the past few days. If you want to start Season 5 without any story points, just skip this section and go to the end.
The show is currently in its 47th week of filming, and cameras are expected to continue rolling for at least two more weeks leading up to the Christmas break. Last week, multiple photos were released, including one by Jason Collins, who said a high street in Jackson, Georgia, was being remodeled for an upcoming shoot.

According to the latest from our friends at Stranger Things spoilers, this week we’ll be back in time to the spring of 1989, featuring Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and various other adults who will reportedly attend the graduation ceremony. One of the final scenes featuring Jump is expected to be filmed. This tick is confirmed by another surfaced photo (posted on X by Tate100T). It suggests that the show will end in 1989 (the season begins in the fall of 1987) and has a poster that says “Congratulations!” Hawkins High School seniors, Class of 1989. ”

I won’t be posting any more here, but if you look hard enough, there are plenty of behind-the-scenes photos and videos, some of which are very spoiler-heavy. One account that seems more enthusiastic about filming than the others is Christopher Oquendo.
Finally, Ross Duffer posted another photo yesterday with the caption, “I was able to fix him ❤️ (Just fell in love with our amazing ST5 VFX team!!)” I did.
Matthew Modine is coming back!?
Will daddy come back? Matthew Modine, best known for his role as Dad, died untimely in season 4, but could he be back? Yesterday, the actor posted an old video (first released a few years ago) on Instagram with the hashtags “#strangerthings5 #bts #drmartinbrenner #papa.” Earlier this year, Modine successfully dodged questions about whether he would return, but the Duffers hinted that he would return in 2022 in flashback format. Modine also previously hinted that her character wasn’t fully developed in a 2022 Vulture interview. He prepared a series of questions for the interviewer and suggested he could answer more. “Three things concern me: How does he [Brenner] Can you survive the Demogorgon? How did he survive One? And when Eleven attempts to use her powers against Dr. Brenner after blasting three guards into the air, he unflinchingly blocks her and says, “Don’t think it would be that easy.” “Sho?” She couldn’t make it work on him. Is there more to Brenner than meets the eye? ”

- A small update on the animated series – we believe the show is moving forward under the working title “Project Milkwood” (which refers to the nickname given to the road that passes through Hawkins National Laboratory) But even better, we are led to believe that it is. I was given an order for two seasons, paid in advance.
- There has been a lot of confusion over the past few days about the age restriction for Stranger Things. The show is currently listed as TV-MA, which is quite surprising since, as I checked yesterday, it’s been switching to and from TV-14 for that rating since 2022. Not. However, recent changes are consistent with all new assets. listed above.
- Netflix announced its holiday gift guide this week. Stranger Things has received several mentions, including collaborations with Pandora, Clarks, Funko, Thunder Bay Books, Squishmallow, and other items available on the Netflix Shop.

There’s no word on when Netflix will release official information regarding season 5. The last big update came during Stranger Things Day, and we hear there are some surprises planned for the NFL game on Netflix on Christmas Day (first look at Jake Paul vs. Mike (It was unveiled during the Tyson fight).
