Shakira is celebrating her single status with a new music video for “Soltera,” her first release since her Latin Grammy-nominated “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” LP debuted in March. The tropical song gets the visual treatment Friday in a new music video that boasts guest appearances from Latin pop singers Anitta, Dana Paola, Natti Natasha, Bizarap, and internet personalities including Lele Pons and Harry Jowsey. received.
The video begins with Shakira waking up to the sound of her housekeeper’s knock in a messy hotel room with a bunch of friends spread out on the floor and mattresses. As the song begins, we have a flashback of the events of the previous night. Shakira and crew attend a yacht party, play a game of strip poker, and take shots at a nightclub.
“I have a right to misbehave and a right to have a good time,” Shakira cries in the chorus of “Solterra.” “I’m on my own now and can do what I want/It’s good to be single.”
After the song’s release in September, Shakira previewed “Solterra” at LIV Miami, where the sparkling new video was shot. Clips of the stars filming the video began to surface online, while Shakira and her co-stars promoted the then-unreleased single on social media.
Shakira recently announced dates for her “Las Mujeres Ya No Jolan” tour for Latin America, which will include stops in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Peru and her native Colombia, produced by Live Nation. The tour will begin next year. The tour, named after the band’s first new album in seven years, begins with a North American stop on November 2nd at Acresure Arena in Palm Desert, California. These dates will be her first since her 2018 El Dorado World Tour. That has taken her to stadiums and arenas around the world.
