SAG-AFTRA has responded to allegations that “Tulsa King” star Sylvester Stallone created a “toxic environment” for background actors on the Paramount+ series’ Atlanta set.
“There is no place for derogatory comments about background actors or performers on any set,” a SAG-AFTRA spokesperson said in a statement. “We have not been contacted directly about what happened on the set of ‘Tulsa King,’ but… SAG-AFTRA of Atlanta is committed to the safety and health of our cast members on all of our productions. ”
The statement also said that while SAG-AFTRA’s “television/theatrical agreement does not cover background actors in Atlanta,” the union “will provide guidance and assistance upon request.”

They made fun of their weight and disability, calling them “pails of lard” and “fat men with canes.” Sly said, “Bring all the cute young girls and come around me.” ”
Another screenshot shows what appears to be an email message from Rose Locke, the casting director for “Tulsa King,” in which she says, “I was informed that I had visited the set. ” was written. Ultimately she resigned because it was “obviously a toxic environment and she was uncomfortable putting herself or the background artists in.”
“Ultimately, I resigned because of what was clearly a toxic environment and one I was uncomfortable putting myself and background artists in,” Locke wrote. She then apologized to the recipients of her email and included her own phone number to request information about what people had experienced, “seen and heard.” Send the information to the Human Resources Department. ” (variety Benson’s tweet is not embedded because of Locke’s phone number. )
“Tulsa King,” created by “Yellowstone” showrunner Taylor Sheridan, is currently filming its second season in Atlanta. Season 1 of Tulsa King, which premiered in November 2022, was filmed in Oklahoma, where the drama is set.
