LAHORE (Web Desk) – The 88th birth anniversary celebrations of Sabiha Khanum, the golden girl of Pakistani cinema, passed by in a blink of an eye as there were no notable events in the showbiz world.
She was born as Mukhtar Begum on October 16, 1935 in Gujrat but rose to fame as Sabiha Khanum.
Khanum was one of the most popular actors in Lollywood during the 1950s and 1960s.
In addition to appearing in films, she also appeared on stage and even sang the national anthem in several PTV shows.
Pakistani cinema in the 1950s and 60s was largely dominated by Sabiha Khanum and her husband Santosh Kumar.
Khanum became part of Pakistan’s first Silver Jubilee film To Ansu and the first golden jubilee movie stone. Some of her famous films include: 70,000,000,000,000,000,000, mousey curl, Choti Begum naji, desire, Daman, question, Wada, i came, Mefil, Toofan, this sin and truth and Ishq Laila.
She passed away on June 13, 2020 in the United States.
