It’s official: We’re getting the last dose of Pogue goodness, and today, following the premiere of Season 4, Part 2. outer banks It will return for its fifth and final season. The news broke out of the press after a huge Outer Banks celebration was held in Los Angeles over the weekend.
According to Netflix, writing for the final season is currently underway, and details and additional information about season 5 will be shared at a later date.
In a note from the show’s creators, they detail why the show is ending after five seasons.

Seven years ago, in the summer of 2017, we found a photo of teenagers on the beach at dusk during a power outage. That photo sparked the idea for a story about four best friends who just want to have fun all the time. From this beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship.
Seven years ago, it seemed impossible to tell the entire story of Season 5, and at the end of Season 4, we’re still fragmenting.
The fourth season was the longest and most difficult to produce, but also the most rewarding. The season ends with a feature-length episode that we think is the best and strongest episode. I hope you feel the same way.
Now, I’m a little nervous but also excited as we wrap up Season 4 and move on to Season 5. In Season 5, we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in a way we imagined and planned all those years ago. Season 5 will be our last season, but I think it will be our best yet. Would you like to paddle to the surf break again? ”
The announcement of the final season came days after most of the cast gathered at Santa Monica’s Venice Beach to celebrate the show’s annual event, Pogelandia. The sold-out show featured multiple musicians and most of the series’ cast. For fans who weren’t in attendance, we got new photos Saturday night and an updated trailer showing what’s in store when Season 4 Part 2 launches on November 7, 2024.
