sisters brothers (2018)
evaluation: R
language: English
Genre: drama, western
director: Jacques Audiard
writer: Jacques Audiard, Thomas Bidegain, Patrick DeWitt
runtime: 122 minutes / 2 hours 2 minutes
Today we have a surprise addition with serious star power. We’re talking about Joaquin Phoenix, Jake Gyllenhaal, Riz Ahmed, and John C. Reilly. They all play great roles in this western that was a surefire hit, although sadly it was a bit of a box office flop when it was released in theaters six years ago. It’s been under my radar until now.
Set in the 1800s, it follows Herman Kermit Worm as he sends two notorious assassins to capture an admiral who could expose and destroy his empire while keeping his methods of making money a secret.
Emilia Perez (2024)

Perhaps Netflix’s best shot at taking home the top prize at next year’s Oscars is the acquired Netflix original film EMILIA PÉREZ, released this Wednesday. “A cartel boss makes an ambitious lawyer an offer he can’t refuse in this musical drama,” says the new film’s official description, but the film struggled to crack the top 10 in most regions. I am doing it.
The film has already received positive reviews across the board, and we’ve added our own review to the chorus of praise we’ve received from around the world. Emilia Perez door. They gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars and concluded:
“The best thing about Emilia Pérez is that nothing compares to Emilia Pérez. Always fascinating, vibrant, tragic, with genre changes and memorable set pieces at every turn. Strong performances from the Fab Five (with an interesting Edgar Ramirez performance for dessert) add to the production value on a very modest budget, making it the best Netflix movie of the year so far. This is the best chance for an acting Oscar win since Laura Dern won in 2020.
AP Bio (Season 1-4)
Number of episodes:42
evaluation: TV-14
language: English
Genre: comedy
cast: Glenn Howerton, Lyric Lewis, Mary Thorne
As we first scooped, Netflix has acquired both NBC and Peacock’s seasons of the poorly watched, yet well-reviewed comedy sitcom. The series, created by Michael Patrick O’Brien, ran for a total of four seasons before being unceremoniously canceled. The plot revolves around a disgraced Harvard philosopher who loses his dream job and is forced to become a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. .
