Kody Brown acts like a real, live human being on this Sunday’s new episode of Sister Wives.
In a sneak peek shared by Today.com, Meri Brown is officially moving from Flagstaff to Utah.
“My job in Flagstaff is over. My marriage with him is over. I’m starting a new life,” Meri tells the camera in the clip, adding that Kody and the former couple will be together in 2023. He mentioned his marriage, which ended in January.
At the beginning of season 19, Meri announced that she received permission from the church to divorce Kody Brown.
(The two were legally married from 1990 to 2014 and then lived as spiritual spouses, allowing Kody to exchange vows with Robyn Brown.)
Elsewhere, Brown told Kody that they had decided to “end” their marriage “permanently” and were moving to their home state of Utah.
For the record, this episode of Sister Wives was filmed in early 2023. That was a long time ago.
Meanwhile, in this video, Kody drops Meri off at her new home and seems to be actually affected by the development.
“Okay, okay,” he said, fighting his emotions, before adding, “Meri, it’s the end of an era.”
Meri agrees and hugs Kodi, who reminds her by saying:
“It’s been a great run, but I’m not going to let this get me down.”
Previously, on the TLC reality show, Meri explained how she received mixed messages from Kodi and why they stuck around for years, even after it was clear he didn’t love her anymore.
An example of this can be seen in the November 24th episode where Kody cries while saying goodbye.
“I’m always surprised when you get this emotional. I just don’t understand,” Meri replied, to which her ex-boyfriend replied: “I don’t understand.”
“I just look at my life and feel like it’s not turned upside down. …I feel like something happened.”
Meri agrees, but she can’t shake the 30 years they spent together. “There were some really good ones,” she replies.
While this may have been true, the Sister Wives stars weren’t close for long towards the end of their marriage.
An emotional Kody Brown tells Meri while holding back tears.
“We had something special, and I feel like everything went in the worst direction. And then there was just one thing, and then there was another thing, and then another thing. But it was all fine.”
At this point, of course, Cody only Married to Robin. Meri, Christine, and Janelle all left polygamy.
“I love the life I have now, but it’s a completely different life than it was three years ago,” Kody says on this Sunday night’s broadcast. “And everyone else seemed to be saying, ‘This isn’t important.'”
