Eric and Lyle Menendez And their defense team is pressing for freedom in full court at a hearing next month… and it turns out their star witnesses are people in prison.
A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ… menendez brothers lawyer, mark geragosplans to call six key witnesses to the stand at a rebuttal hearing on Dec. 11…all of whom work for the California Department of Corrections.
The witnesses included two correctional officers, one education officer, one correctional officer, one assistant correctional officer, and one Department of Corrections employee, all of whom had passed each other with Eric and Lyle in prison for more than 30 years.
Our sources say prison officials will testify that Eric and Lyle have rehabilitated and not only worked to better themselves as model inmates, but also helped improve the lives of other inmates.
Among other things, witnesses will focus on the beautification program they led at the prison yard at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility outside San Diego, California.
Lyle launched a program in 2018 called Green Space…the project includes murals of San Diego landmarks…Eric is the lead painter. Their vision also calls for the construction of an outdoor classroom, a service dog training area and a gathering space for rehabilitation groups.
Geragos has filed legal documents supporting his case, including letters from dozens of Geragos’ relatives. Jose and kitty menendez …letter supporting the release of Eric and Lyle.
TMZ obtained the victim’s letter, in which Jose and Kitty’s families say seeing Eric and Lyle released will help their healing process. Interesting… The family is considered victims because they are related to Kitty and Jose, and several people are said to be likely to testify.
Our sources say the Menendez brothers will not appear in court but will participate in the proceedings virtually from prison.

As I said, Eric and Lyle have several paths to freedom. Geragos will ask the judge to change the conviction. From murder to manslaughterThis will immediately release it based on the maximum offer time.
It’s possible that the judge will resent them and place their freedom in the hands of the parole board…but that could take six months or more.
governor of california gavin newsome You can always step in and swap texts between Eric and Lyle…and Geragos submitted documents requesting pardon.
stay tuned …
