Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the 2005 Nickelodeon animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” premiered Thursday.
The debut season depicted a world where people could control one of the four elements – water, earth, fire, and air – and live in their respective countries. The show follows Anne (Gordon Cormier), who learns that she is the only Avatar who can master all four elements and must defeat the Fire Nation to end the 100 Year War. ) is the story.
The series introduced young and up-and-coming actors, including Gordon Cormier and Kiawentio Tarbell, who played Aang and Katara, respectively. However, the show was backed by notable talents such as “Lost” actor Daniel Dae Kim and “Kim’s Convenience” star Paul Seung-hyun Lee.
