Netflix greenlights next project maid Creator and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler.
Streamer ordered siren, a limited series described as a dark comedy that explores “women, power, and class.” The series comes from Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap banner (which Maid also produces). barbie The star and producer will serve as executive producer.
siren Based on Metzler’s play elemeno pea, which she wrote while a student at Juilliard. It centers around her two sisters, Devon and Simone, and Devon’s concerns that Simone is having an unhealthy relationship with her new boss, socialite Michaela Kell. According to the show’s logline, “Michaela’s cult-like luxury life is like a drug to Simone, and Devon decides it’s time to intervene. Even though Devon tracks down his sister and says, ‘Oh my god,’ , she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of one explosive weekend at a luxurious beach estate in The Kells. siren This is a sharp, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class. ”
The series is the first to come out of Metzler’s overall deal with Netflix. Maid’success. The series, based on Stephanie Rand’s memoir, was one of the most-watched original streaming shows of 2021 and earned three Emmy nominations, including an award for Best Original Screenplay for Metzler.
Mr. Metzler’s credits also include: shameless and orange is the new black, will serve as executive producer on “Sirens” through the Quiet Coyote banner. LuckyChap’s Robbie, Dani Gorin and Tom Ackerley are also executive producers.
