Lena Dunham is determined to spread a message of “love and hope” with her new Netflix show.
The 37-year-old star is busy working on Too Much, which is about a girl who moves from America to London after a breakup, and Lena gave fans an insight into what they can expect.
Regarding her “target audience,” Lena told Variety magazine: ”
The new series will feature appearances from Megan Stalter and Will Sharp, among others, and Lena hopes the show will help spread positivity.
She said, “I love seeing women in crisis get what they deserve in a good way, and that’s what we’re all about with this show.”
“Also, when it comes to this time of the world, it’s loving and fun and hopefully sharp and edgy and also includes all the naughty scenes that people are used to seeing from me, but with some kind of underlying underpinning. I’m trying to create something with a message of love and hope. ”
Lena is probably best known as the creator and writer of HBO’s hit series Girls, which aired from 2012 to 2017, and the actress has been surprised by the show’s recent revival among young people.
She said: “It was crazy and wild and not what I expected.
“For the cast and I, if someone sends us a funny meme, we share it. I’ll be 38 in May, but I started writing this show when I was 23. If I make a pilot, wow, what a life experience.” So the fact that no one, I mean, people are still watching shows that aired before Instagram was invented?! What on earth does that mean?”
