Kelly Osbourne believes this criticism stems from jealousy.
That’s why she doesn’t understand why it’s considered such a big deal when it comes to Ozempic and other type 2 diabetes drugs that many celebrities say they use to lose weight.
“I think it’s great,” Kelly exclusively told E! News of the Ozempic trend on the red carpet at Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala on January 30th. “There are a million ways to lose weight. Why not try something less boring than working out?”
What about those who oppose drug use for purposes other than diabetes management? Well, Kelly has a lot of thoughts on that.
“People hate it because they want to do it,” the “Osborne” alum said. “And the people who hate it the most are the people who are doing it secretly or who are upset that they don’t have the money. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive at the moment, but Ultimately, it will become obsolete because it actually works.” ”
Kelly has been open about her struggles with weight over the years, including feeling like she lost too much weight after giving birth to her son Sydney in 2022.
Kelly Osbourne’s honest motherhood comments
“Honestly, after I gave birth, I felt a lot of pressure to lose the baby weight,” she told E! News from last fall. “It became my mission. I was obsessed with it because I didn’t want to be brought into the conversation, I just wanted to be left alone.”
Of the weight loss process, she added: “It was hard work. I was miserable. I was hungry all the time, but I’m really happy with the results.”
And Kelly isn’t the only member of the family to weigh in on Ozempic’s tendencies. Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, has similarly been candid about her use of Ozempic and the difficulties she experienced while on it, including struggling to gain weight back on. After she dropped her weight below 100 lbs.
“I’m too skinny to gain weight,” she told the Daily Mail in November. “I want to do that because I think I’m too skinny. I don’t want to be that way because I weigh less than 100 pounds.”
And while the 71-year-old said she had been off drugs for some time at the time, she added of her experience: “I couldn’t stop the weight loss and I can’t lose any more. My warning. “Don’t give it to teenagers. It’s too easy, they can cause a lot of weight loss, they’re easy to get addicted to, and it’s very dangerous.”
Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala, a variety special featuring music’s biggest stars and a unique dog fashion show, will air on February 21 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.
