I never expected the Duggars and Tiger King to be mentioned at the same time.
Indeed, Josh Duggar and Joe Exotic are both controversial former reality stars currently serving lengthy prison sentences.
But the shows that made these two famous couldn’t have been more different. And that’s just one reason we’re surprised that these two worlds will soon collide in court.
Dagger and Tiger King relationship
If you’re a long-time Duggar fan, you probably already know that Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, is an active attorney.
Derrick will be sworn in in 2022 and is currently licensed to practice in both Arkansas and Oklahoma.
And what does it have to do with the infamous feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin?
Well, nothing really, but Joe’s friend and campaign manager Joshua Dial is scheduled to go to trial soon on unrelated domestic assault charges.
And guess who is prosecuting this case!
Yes, further proof that 2024 is the strangest year ever, Derrick will soon face off against Joe Exotic’s right-hand man in a high-stakes legal battle.
According to Starcasm, Dial will be ordered back to court on November 18th, and Derrick will represent the state of Oklahoma in the charges against him.
Team Exotic’s long history of legal troubles
Fans hoping for courtroom cameos from Tiger King’s top stars will be understandably disappointed.
Joe Exotic is currently serving a 22-year sentence for orchestrating the murder-for-hire plot against Baskin.
A cancer-stricken prisoner has reportedly given up on his dreams of early parole after pleading with President Donald Trump for clemency.
Officials say Joe has refused medical treatment and plans to die in prison.
The exotic story continues
Joe’s former campaign manager maintains he is innocent of the misdemeanor charges against him.
“I’ve been trying to move on and have been successful so far,” Joshua recently told Oxygen.
“When I met my fiancé, I was given a new life and a second chance. I don’t want to bring that kind of pain into my life.”
Let’s hope justice is served next month when Derick Dillard takes on his first high-profile lawsuit.
And we don’t care if Jill makes a cameo in court.
It’s not every day you get to see the worlds of two memorable reality shows overlap like this.
