Jenelle Evans swears she’s not violent.
At least never in the recent past.
The often-embattled reality star issued a statement to Celebuzz late last week in which she attempted to downplay an apparent incident between her and boyfriend August Keene over the summer.
In case you missed it, Keene called 911 in August and told the operator — according to Ashley’s Reality Roundup friends — that Evans had been stalking him “all night.” He told her that he had been hitting her and that he had consumed alcohol between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. and was intoxicated. Drinking alcohol in the past few hours.
Keene added that his girlfriend generally smokes “a lot of weed and drinks a lot.”
Evans can be heard screaming in the background of the call, which was reportedly made after she and Keene returned from a pool party.
(Keep in mind, Jenelle moved to Las Vegas from North Carolina earlier this year.)
“I’m trying to walk away, but she keeps following me,” Keene said in the 911 call. “I just want to get out of the house safely.”
Police eventually arrived at August’s home, but August did not press charges.
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Keene attempted to retract his claims.
“No, I wasn’t hit. I don’t condone any violence and I don’t stand by any domestic violence situation,” he told his followers.
“My intention was never to get any of us in trouble,” he wrote. “On the contrary. I respect and love you very much. [Jenelle] very. “
Ms Evans, who left her abusive relationship in March, told Celebuzz at the weekend:
“August and I have been best friends for many years. We’ve had less than five arguments in seven or eight years. Our bond is much stronger than that bad night.”
It is important to note that there is no denial here of Mr. Keene’s original accusations.
“That night is behind us. We are simply focused on the possibilities of the future,” Evans simply added to this new message.
Previously, Keene said through a statement on social media that everything was blown out of proportion.
“We had a great time at a friend’s event, hopped in an Uber at the end of the night, and had a disagreement on the way to her house. I wanted her to carry my luggage and accompany me, but I… I don’t like alcohol because things can escalate in a moment of excitement.”
When Keene mentioned drugs on the phone, he said he was simply referring to “anxiety” drugs, concluding:
“And FYI, there were no children at any point. I think if the police saw anything suspicious, they would have done their job there.”
