Kai Asakura is fighting for the flyweight title in the main event of UFC 310 — his first fight in the United States — and the Japanese mixed martial arts star says there’s one special person he’d like to face in the Octagon… Shohei Otani!
TMZ Sports Recently, before his UFC debut, he competed in a title match vs. 31-year-old Asakura. alexandre pantoja They will face off in Las Vegas on Dec. 10, but the 21-4 Warriors hope the newly crowned World Series champions can be ready in time for the trip to Sin City.
“I’ve never met you. [Ohtani]Asakura said through an interpreter, “But I would like you to come and watch the game.”
It’s unclear if Shohei is a martial arts fan, but it’s common to see big stars, including top athletes, at UFC events.
As for what Shohei, or anyone else watching, can expect from Kai…this is what he had to say.
“They’ll notice that I have an explosive fighting style,” he said. “I think they’re going to see something they’ve never seen before, and I want them to be my fans after this game and for years to come.”
We also asked Asakura if Pantoja, who is 21-4 and looking to defend his title for the third time, is his toughest opponent.
“I don’t think so,” he said without wasting any time.
