Netflix will premiere a three-part documentary series about Jake Paul and Mike Tyson ahead of the heavyweight boxing event on November 15. The streamer has also confirmed the time of the live event for the first time, which will begin at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
The docuseries, titled “Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson,” promises to give viewers a look inside training camp and “follow two fighters, troublemaker Jake El Gallo Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) and the fiercest man on the planet, Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs)” as they prepare for their bout. The first two episodes of “Countdown” will premiere on November 7, with the third and final episode dropping on November 12 — three days before the 27-year-old Paul and 58-year-old Tyson collide at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Countdown will focus on these two big names as well as document the build-up to a women’s showdown between super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) as they battle it out for the undisputed title of super lightweight champion.
Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson is produced by Everwonder Studios. Ian Orefice and Michael Antinoro are executive producers and the film is directed by Tim Mullen and Jackie Decker.
The high-profile bout between Paul and Tyson was originally scheduled for July but was rescheduled to November after the event’s promoters, Most Valuable Promotions, announced a postponement due to Tyson needing to recover from a recurrence of an ulcer.
