A group of people in India went out to dinner and ended up in the hospital – bleeding from the mouth, and after being offered dry ice and being told it was a mouth freshener, their mouths split open.
The brutal scene was captured on video in Gurgaon over the weekend, showing five people eating at La Foresta Cafe all vomiting and spewing blood…right in the middle. in. The same goes for restaurants.
According to local reports, a waiter arrived with what a customer was told was a sugar and ice palate cleanser…but it turned out to be dry ice, causing instant burns. .
The effects seemed to be immediate, as after putting dry ice in his mouth, he reportedly began vomiting due to bleeding and severe pain, rinsing his mouth out with water and spitting all over the floor. One man was throwing up his entire dinner on the floor.
The cameraman who recorded all this ended up not ingesting the dry ice himself. He survived, but only because he had one child…so he was lucky. Unfortunately, the rest of the adults in his party accepted it…and they suffered terribly.
The group was eventually taken to the hospital, where they spent two days recovering. This was a mistake that cost the restaurant dearly. The manager was arrested and police are still searching for the owner, who is on the run. Police claim it was a complete poisoning.
Ingestion of dry ice can be fatal…but fortunately, the condition of these people is reported to be stable. It’s unclear what exactly led to the mix-up, but managers reportedly said staff had somehow mixed the ice together by mistake and it was an accident.
