The biggest night in movie history is (soon) coming. The 96th Academy Awards Ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theater on Sunday, March 10th at a new time of 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT. Jimmy Kimmel will once again serve as host of the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on ABC and in more than 200 territories around the world.
The best way for cable TV insiders to watch the awards show is through various live TV streamers such as DirecTV Stream and Sling TV. Both offer free trials. ABC is also available to stream on his Fubo TV and Hulu + Live TV.
Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” has the most nominations this year with 13, followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” with 11 and Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon.” There are 10 divisions. Rounding out the lineup of best works is “American Fiction.” “Autumn Anatomy,” “Barbie,” “The Holdovers,” “Maestro,” “Past Lives,” and “Zone of Interest.”
This year’s presenters include four of last year’s acting award winners. Brendan Fraser for “The Whale” and Michelle Yeoh, Ke Hui Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis for Best Picture winner “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Oscar winners Mahershala Ali (Moonlight and Green Book), Jessica Lange (Tootsie and Blue Sky), Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club), and Lupita Nyong’o (Dallas Buyers Club) Sam Rockwell (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”) will also be on stage.
In addition, all five original songs nominated for this year’s Academy Awards will be performed on stage at the Dolby Theater at the 96th Oscar ceremony. Jon Batiste, Becky G, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, Scott George and the Osage Singers, and Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson will perform memorable numbers from their respective films.
