donald trump Colorado will remain on the ballot for the 2024 presidential election, and that applies to every other state as well…the Supreme Court just decided this.
All nine justices on Monday unanimously ruled in favor of DT in its appeal against the state of Colorado, which sought to remove DT from the November ballot…citing the Constitution’s Insurrection Clause and actually joining DT. I decided that I did. One on January 6th.
The high court did not consider whether that was true…What the high court decided here was that this issue of removing federal employees from office for rebellion is for Congress to decide, not for the states to decide. All I knew was that it wasn’t something I should do. In other words, they said Colorado misunderstood the law.
In their opinion, they wrote… “For the reasons given, the responsibility for enforcing Title III against federal employees and candidates lies with Congress, not with the states.”
SCOTUS went on to say, “The Colorado Supreme Court’s decision cannot stand.” They went on to say that it is clear that Colorado’s decision to disqualify President Trump will be reversed, setting a precedent for other states that have attempted similar actions in recent months.
Maine and Illinois also cited similar insurrection clauses to ban President Trump from appearing on their ballots, but lost as the Supreme Court weighed in.
This is a rare W for Donald these days…he’s gotten a lot of L’s — but here he wins…and has a chance to compete for the presidency squarely. You will get it.
