Daytona Motor Mouth: Martinsville Failure
This week everyone is talking about short track racing… will a fix be coming? when? Keep an eye on this weekend’s game against Texas.
Finally, you can put all your short track complaints and groans to rest. At least for a while.
No, NASCAR hasn’t announced any packages or rule changes on that front yet, but all three major series will shift their focus to the 1.5-mile quad oval that awaits at Texas Motor Speedway.
The Craftsman Truck Series, Xfinity Series and Cup Series begin with practice and qualifying sessions on Friday, with a weekend tripleheader scheduled. Truck racing will be held Friday night at 8:30 p.m., followed by an Xfinity event Saturday afternoon and culminating in Sunday’s Cup Series AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400.
Last week, William Byron won his third event already this year, joining Denny Hamlin in sweeping the past four races. Byron won his final race in Texas in September.
