The series centers on an alien who takes on the true identity of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk), who crash lands on Earth during a mission to destroy the planet. However, by the end of season 2, he undergoes a change of heart and his mission changes to saving Earth from another hostile alien species, the Grays. Season 3 saw him working with General McAllister (Linda Hamilton) on a mission, but her true intentions may surprise him.

[Bach] It’s part of this darling project that McAllister is working on. She is trying to eliminate all aliens from Earth. And of course Harry would hear that and say, “Hey, I’m standing here.” But that’s her mission, and as she says, who better to do it than someone who can see aliens? So she has a plan for Peter Buck being in this brain-dead state. We’re going to see more of him in the second half of the season and he’s going to come back strong.

Bach’s return resident alienSeason 3 was unexpected considering he died in season 2. Bach, known as the alien tracker, appeared in season 1. Like Max Hawthorne (Judah Prehn), he can see through Vanderspeigle’s disguise and see the alien’s true form. Additionally, he has spent most of his life interacting with aliens. When Bach was a young man, he and his wife’s unborn child were kidnapped by the Glaze. However, the Gray family regularly kidnaps him and places a tracking device in his body to allow him access to their son Robert (Paul Piaskowski).
Decades later, Bach became an alien tracker and dedicated his life to tracking aliens..in resident foreigner In season 1, he encounters Vanders Peigle at one of the alien conventions. Unfortunately, the first encounter does not go well, as Vanderspeigle needed the alien technology found in Bach’s tracking device. Therefore, he pulls out the tracker despite Bach’s pleas not to tear it up as it is his only connection to his son. In Season 2, the two form an uneasy alliance when they infiltrate McAllister’s secret base, believing that his children may be in the facility.
Vanderspeigle and Bach actually found the children at the facility. but, Bach and Robert’s reunion did not last long, with Bach sacrificing himself by taking a bullet to save his son.. He apparently died after he asked Vanderspeigle to help his son. Now, in season 3, it is revealed that Bach is alive, albeit brain-dead. The last time viewers saw Robert was when he was re-abducted by the Grey’s. Therefore, Bach’s return resident foreigner Season 3 means it’s finally revealed why Glaze is interested in father and son, and it might help McAllister in some way.
