Coachella kicked off its first weekend with a bang… curfew fines totaled $0, which appears to be in line with the number of tickets still available.

In other words… there was no reason to impose a fine just because it was on time – and given the lackluster response to the government. This year’s lineup …I think that’s natural.
The fact is… there were a ton of Coachella passes. Ready to use This year’s event seems to speak for itself, despite having sold out in years past, and now that all music artists were able to start and finish on time.

Last year it was the opposite…as we reported, curfew violations (Weekend 1) in 2023 A total of $117,000 in fines was imposed. — Fines of $20,000 per day for the first five minutes after curfew and $1,000 for each additional minute.
This was clearly a lesson for organizers to tweak their schedules to avoid costly overruns. In 2022, curfew fines totaled $61,000 for three weeks of music events (two weeks of Coachella and a weekend of Stagecoach).
At least so far, that hasn’t been the case in 2024… I hope they stay that way!
