Freedom suits Christine. Meri, well, I’m still working on it.
As a new season, sister wife Moving on, the show is finally starting to look like it used to.
That means families are no longer in separate locations. In fact, for the first time in forever, almost the entire family was together in the same room.
Kody, Robin, Meri, Christine, and oh yes, Christine’s husband!
Of course, at the time tonight’s episode was filmed, David Woolley was still just Christine’s boyfriend. Nevertheless, Kody meeting Christine’s new man was just as eventful as Christine and Meri’s reunion.
Let’s just say there was an awkward atmosphere around. That was before Christine debuted a huge new tattoo on her chest.
Janelle and Meri confront each other about Coyote Pass.
The episode begins with Janelle returning to Flagstaff to meet Meri. The latter is moving into a bed and breakfast and preparing to vacate his home in Coyote Pass.
This is apparently news to Janelle, who just so happens to be eager to talk about how to get her share of real estate back from their mutual exes.
Despite claiming in their confessional that they “do not hate each other,” Meri is cold towards Janelle.
“We’ve never been very close before,” she admits, calling their sit-downs “not social visits.” Janelle agreed, admitting that they never had a close “one-on-one relationship.” However, Janelle feels Meri deserves to know what’s going on. And she ends up embarking on the drama surrounding Coyote Pass.
At first, Meri is surprised to hear Janelle’s side of the story and actually defends Kody. But as Janelle shares more of her story, she begins to sit down with her ex-husband and agree that they need to work out the money.
Meri returns to confession and insists she has no intention of siding with Kody, Robin, or the “ex-wives club.”
Christine and David’s house search
Elsewhere, Christine and David start looking for a home together. Yes, it’s been less than two months and they’ve already gone ring shopping and house hunting together.
And if you can believe it, they’re still headed in a much more serious direction.
They are both looking for a very specific space. She wants a big kitchen with two ovens, and he wants a three-car garage. They seem to be very much in agreement that they want a particularly big house, but not one so big that all their children will live together.
Speaking of kids, Janelle is back in North Carolina with Maddie, who is about to give birth, while her kids Gabe and Savannah go to see David at Gwendolyn and Bea’s bridal shower, an important family event. I’m waiting for you.
And there the fireworks will go off!
Christine and Meri hug
The entire family, including Meri, Kody, and Robin, is invited to Gwendolyn’s party. Meri arrives with the other two, but she tries to stay away from them.
She does this by heading straight for Christine and David. It’s been over a year since they last saw each other, and it’s certainly the first time Meri and Kody have seen each other since their breakup.
Shockingly, the women embrace and whisper “I love you” in each other’s ears. It’s actually a very tender moment. The two seem so comfortable together that Meri even jokes about the catfishing scandal.
However, when Meri returns to the confessional, she admits that she still hasn’t been able to open up to Christine. She also doesn’t tolerate divorce as much as Christine.
Christine gets a tattoo
Finally, the big moment arrives. Christine introduces David to Kody and Robin. It’s incredibly awkward, and their conversations go on far too long, dominated by sharp silences and awkward laughter.
But as Aspin points out, once Christine and David get married, this new man will be a more present father figure in Truly’s life than her father, Kody. The girls’ fathers have the right to meet new men throughout their lives.
Kody said in a confessional that Robin was worried that David was a “hunk” and was jealous.
But overall, the couple managed to pull through strong and Christine celebrated the moment with a large tattoo on her right breast area. She gave the camera a glimpse of the Celtic symbol for “new beginnings” on her chest. David got a matching pair, but it’s just another step towards their romance becoming a reality.
