Before Alan Ritchson became Jack Reacher, he played Kevin “Thad” Castle, captain of the Blue Mountain State football team, on the cult TV comedy series. I’m not familiar with the series at all, but according to Deadline, Blue Mountain State University is considering buying a sequel series and is looking to revive it.
Alan Ritchson will reprise his role in the Blue Mountain State sequel series, while Darin Brooks and Chris Romano will also reprise their roles as Alex Moran and Sammy Cacciatore, respectively. The original series premiered on Spike TV (remember him?) in 2010 and ran for three seasons before being canceled. The show follows his three freshmen at Blue Mountain State University, a college football powerhouse in the Midwest, as they quickly adjust to college life and struggle with football, girls, classes, and the constant I have to make do with the constant confusion. Over the years, the series has become a cult favorite, even spawning a Kickstarter-funded sequel film, Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland.
