Bengals Legend Willie Anderson Competing Joe BurrowDefense of… Communicate TMZ Sports Those who blame Cincinnati’s poor start to the season on the quarterback are completely wrong.
The former offensive lineman slammed JB haters in an interview with Us on Tuesday, about 24 hours after the Bengals fell to 0-3 with a loss to the Commanders on “Monday Night Football.”
“It’s ridiculous,” Anderson said of the criticism of Burrow. “They’re in the game because of him. It’s totally ridiculous.”
Of course, there was plenty of dissent online, with fans taking to social media after the 38-33 loss to complain that the 27-year-old point guard hadn’t done enough to secure the win. Even the former Super Bowl champion Chris Canty Speaking on ESPN Radio, Burrow said he needs to try harder.

But Anderson clearly doesn’t think the former Louisiana State star is the issue at all, explaining that injuries to the team’s defense and lack of a pass rush are the real issues.
“To watch the game [Monday] “Tonight, I’m saying Joe Burrow is to blame. [Monday] Any night you score 30-plus points is just ridiculous.”
The Bengals have a chance to turn this around in a few days, taking on the Panthers on Sunday morning, and Anderson said Burrow is one of the biggest reasons fans should be optimistic that things will turn around soon.
“As long as he’s healthy and up and running, he gives us a chance to rebuild,” the former All-Pro right tackle said.
