of Transformers Movies occupy an interesting place in pop culture. Some have grossed over a billion dollars at the box office, yet are not well-loved as entertainment. The action is always exciting – explosions and robots punching each other – but the characters and story are often lacking. Transformers One release, of Transformers Franchises are on the rise.
since then Bumblebee & Transformers: Rise of the Beastthe franchise has given us more love than ever before Michael Bay In the age of film, live-action human characters are far more compelling, Transformers Onethe franchise is more proud of its source material than it is ashamed of. Some of the material may be pretty bad. Transformers The movie is great, but it could be, and is, even greater. Here are all Transformers Ranking by movie quality And how much older we have become.
Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
Directed by Michael Bay
It’s hard to believe, Shia LaBeouf To Mark Wahlberg It was a bad idea, but that’s exactly what happened in this movie, and it’s not necessarily Wahlberg’s fault alone, as the script doesn’t do him any favors. Transformers: Age of Extinction It’s a painfully long experience, full of unnecessary and confusing moments. Nicola Peltzis once again overly sexualized, but for some strange (and creepy) reason, Bay decides to include a scene in which he informs the audience that she is underage and dating an older man, but that the relationship is legal because he is three years older than her according to the “Romeo and Juliet Law.” Was it necessary? No. But it also wasn’t necessary to make the movie in the first place.
Adding to the weirdness is the laughably obvious product placement of both the American and Chinese products. The marketing promises cool Transformers dinosaurs, but they don’t make an appearance until two hours into the film, at which point the audience is completely bored. Is the action fun? Sure, but the robot fights are the same old thing and hard to understand. Still, There are plenty of questionable moments, bad jokes, and a terrible storyline. it is Age of Extinction Not a pleasant experience at all.

Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
Directed by Michael Bay
Transformers: The Last Knight It looks like this Bay and the studio gave up.As usual, it’s a sloppy script full of cheesy dialogue and terrible jokes, and it ignores a lot of the lore set up in the previous films. Still, this movie has better characters and gives Wahlberg something to do besides being an inventor. Anthony Hopkins He also appears as an eccentric, wealthy character, which is entertaining enough.
Transformers: The Last Knight The idea that Transformers have been around since the time of Arthurian legend and have helped humanity in various events, including World War II, is introduced. These seem like much more interesting movies than the ones audiences have seen. There’s also the storyline of Optimus Prime. (Peter Cullen) is brainwashed into becoming evil. But that ends quickly, leading to another nonsensical, explosive battle. Megatron (Frank Welcker) returned because he felt contractually obligated to appear in all the films at this point. Transformers: The Last Knight It really feels like a last gasp.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Directed by Michael Bay
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen It was rushed because of the writers strike at the time, and it shows. There are no breaks in the story, which is a killer at a two-and-a-half hour runtime. The editing is poor, with some shots being recycled. Again, as with all Michael Bay films, Transformers The humor is awkward, immature, and randomly shoved in through the film, with the roommates and LaBeouf’s parents doing nothing but interrupting by telling lame jokes. Shockingly racist robot By 2009 it was already ripe like milk.
But if there’s one thing these films did somewhat well, it’s that the action was pretty strong, especially Optimus Prime’s forest scene. Now, the decision to leave Optimus Prime dead for most of the movie is odd and ruins one of the best aspects of these movies. Megatron barely does anything here and is only slightly outnumbered by new Transformers villain The Fallen (Tony Todd). Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen There is still room for improvement.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
Directed by Michael Bay
Transformers: Dark of the Moon This is a decent choice on this list. They have a lot in common, but… Transformers The problem is, as a result of the final battle between the Autobots and Decepticons in the streets of Chicago, One of the best third acts in the franchiseShockwave is a great villain who brings unique powers to the film and makes for a great scene where LaBeouf and his team try to survive in a collapsing building only to be crushed by his excavator.
Of course, there are flaws, but
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
The film still has some of the funniest scenes of any Bay film.
But the plot here is still complete nonsense. The Decepticons want to recreate Earth as Cybertron, but the way they’re doing it is confusing. Megatron again has very little to do, and Sentinel Prime (Leonard Nimoy) is the center of attention, even though he doesn’t do much except betray Optimus Prime. Transformers: Dark of the Moon It has some of the funniest scenes in Bay’s films, even if they’re a little too long. Certainly not as boring as other movies..

Transformers (2007)
Directed by Michael Bay
This is where it all began. Transformers Typical Transformers It’s a movie, but it’s absolutely minimal. Transformers It remains Bay’s greatest film. Because that’s the simplest one: The Autobots arrive on Earth to defeat Megatron and the Decepticons before they get the Allspark. That’s it. The movie doesn’t get bogged down in history or creating confusing lore that creates numerous plot holes.
LaBeouf and Fox are at their best here, and their chemistry is outstanding. They work well with each other, and it’s a shame Bay couldn’t give Fox more to do. The introduction of the Transformers is well handled, and LaBeouf and Bumblebee form a charming bond. The battles themselves aren’t as explosive and pointless as they are later in the series. Bay’s direction is more restrainedAllow Transformers Don’t be so messed up. It’s nothing special, but it’s still one of Michael Bay’s best movies.
Transformers: The Beast Rises (2023)
Director: Steven Caple Jr.
Transformers: Rise of the Beast‘ Focus on human characters I feel it matches better Bumblebee Being established 5 years ago this is a big plus. Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback It writes a really fun main character and adds a great deal of humanity to the robot.
The character design is Bumblebeeand Transformers is more faithful to the original than ever before. Transformers It’s still trying to find the right mix of human character moments and extreme metal-on-metal action, but it stands as the start of a new, and more coherent, trilogy. Transformers: Rise of the Beast Overall, it’s off to a good start.
“Transformers 1” (2024)
Director: Josh Cooley
Latest Additions Transformers This series was released in 1986. Transformers: The Movie. Transformers One‘s return to full-scale animation gives it the opportunity to be the most accurate interpretation of the franchise since. Transformers: The Movie Set on the planet Cybertron, it depicts the origins of Optimus Prime.Chris Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) is a work that, while its story is simple, is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.
The breakdown in the friendship between Optimus Prime and Megatron is incredibly compelling, giving the film a strong heart. While the star cast is certainly new and takes some getting used to (Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson), they all play their roles extremely well, especially Brian Tyree Henry. Transformers‘The return to animation and life on Cybertron has proven to be a great idea, and audiences are loving the latest addition to the franchise. Bumblebee (2018)
Directed by: Travis Knight
It was already clear from the opening scene of Cybertron Bumblebee It was meant to be a completely unique production compared to Bay’s films, with scenes that felt like they were straight out of the classic cartoons, and the newly redesigned Transformers that felt more faithful to their origins. Bumblebee It’s a human character. Hailee Steinfeld‘s Charlie is a really strong character with a charismatic personality and an interesting backstory.
Her relationship with Bumblebee is heartwarming; E.T.. There is less action than in other films, but the director Travis Knight Everything is clear and it does a great job of making sure your protagonist is at the center of the action. Better human characters, a decent script, and more focused action., Bumblebee This is the best Transformers movie to date.
