Alan Ritchson auditioned for the role of Thor in the MCU, which was ultimately chosen by Chris Hemsworth.
Reacher star Alan Ritchson has auditioned for another big series role. He recalled recently auditioning for the role of Thor in the MCU, which ultimately went to Chris Hemsworth.
In an interview with Men’s Health, Ritchson reflected on his MCU audition. He revealed that he “didn’t take it seriously” and relied on his looks to get his role.
“I didn’t take it seriously,” he revealed. “I thought, ‘If I looked like that guy, they’d throw me the role.’ Nobody cares about acting.”
He was right to some extent. In an interview, he revealed that the casting team had told everyone at the time that the role was “his to lose.” However, he did not show that he had the “skills”.
Maybe Ritchson should have taken it a little more seriously after all. Chris Hemsworth has played Thor in four solo films, the most for any MCU character, and has also appeared in several Avengers team-up films.
Alan Ritchson’s career after missing Thor
In the years that followed, it took Ritchson years to find his leading role. He had appeared in films such as “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and “Blue Mountain State: Rise of the Sadlands,” but he didn’t want to become a star. I haven’t been blessed with any roles yet.
After several years on Titans, Ritchson landed the title role in Prime Video’s Reacher. The series is an adaptation of Lee Child’s various Jack Reacher books in series format. The third season of the adaptation of Persuader is here.
Alan Ritchson also landed featured roles in Fast X, Ordinary Angels, and Guy Ritchie’s Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
