Adele performed her final Las Vegas residency Saturday night at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace, giving a touching farewell speech.
According to a video circulating online, Adele told the audience: “It was amazing and I’m going to miss you so much and I’m going to miss you so much.” “I don’t know when I’ll next want to play again.”
She added: “I’m not doing anything else. I’m actually shitting myself about what I’m going to do. I don’t have any fucking plans.”
Adele’s residency, Weekend with Adele, begins in November 2022. Earlier this year, Adele announced that she would be taking a step back from music after her Las Vegas residency ended.
“I have no plans for any new music,” Adele revealed in July. “I want a big break after this and I want to do a little bit of other creative stuff.”
But during her final show on Saturday night, Adele assured the audience that she would eventually “be back.” “The only thing I’m good at is singing,” she continued. “I don’t know when I want to be on stage next, but I love you.”
Adele explained that she decided to do a residency rather than a tour because of her son, Angelo. “I chose to stay so he could keep his life normal,” she said, adding that she now gets to spend weekends with him.
Adele also thanked her fiancé Rich Paul for “always picking me up and making me feel like I could do anything I wanted.”
She then took to the stage to thank Celine Dion, who attended Adele’s residency show in October. The “My Heart Will Go On” singer opened the Colosseum in 2003 for his first residency.
“I’m emotional, but when Celine Dion came to my show a few weeks ago, I got emotional,” Adele said. “I cried all week…It was just a full-circle moment for me, because that was the only reason I wanted to be here.”
