A24 is Alexander Skarsgard (The Northman, Succession) and Harry Melling (The Pale Blue Eye, The Queen’s Gambit).
Produced by multi-Oscar winner Element Pictures and released earlier this summer, Pillion is directed by Harry, whose short story The Wren was nominated for Best British Short Film at the 2018 BAFTAs. This is Wright’s feature debut. It was registered with BIFA and had its US premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
“Pillion” follows Colin (Melling), a weedy wallflower getting through life. That is until Ray (Skarsgård), the motorcycle club’s incredibly handsome leader, subjugates him. Ray uproots Colin from his boring suburban life and introduces him to a community of perverted, queer bikers, taking all kinds of virginity in the process. But as Colin delves deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether a life of 24/7 obedience is right for him. Has he found his calling, or has he simply replaced one form of suffocation with another?
