Meri Brown both defended themselves on the latest episode of Sister Wives and offered an explanation.
What many TLC viewers have long wondered is why did it take so long for Meri to walk away from their spiritual union to Kody?
All the way back in early 2022, we learned that these Browns hadn’t had sex in over a decade.
Still… it took about 12 months after this information spread for Meri and Kody to announce that their marriage had ended.
Why was Meri by his side when he stopped openly loving her years ago?
“There were a lot of things that he said and did that were really, really confusing over the years, and that’s why I stayed with him for so long,” Meri explained on air this week.
“More recently, over the last few years, Kody has been talking to me as if he wants to vent, but I’ve never really wanted him to talk to me, have a conversation, open up to me. And I thought for a while that maybe a door had been opened, and I said, “Okay, we can have other conversations.”
“We can start working on things.” That’s what it felt like to me. ”
So Kodi was sending mixed messages. Or was Meri only hearing what she wanted to hear?
Meri and Kody actually married in 1990, but divorced in 2014 when Kody married Robyn Brown and legally adopted their children from a previous relationship.
After that, the relationship between the ex-husband and wife deteriorated… Shortly after, Meri ended up being involved in a catfishing scandal.
She was scammed online by a woman pretending to be a man.
“Meri and I were trying to repair our relationship,” Kody said in a confessional this week.
“I’m totally over catfishing with Meri, so now I just want to be curious. We’re trying to figure this out. What ended up happening is that there’s never going to be It was not a fertile bed for love to grow.”
Previously, Kody slammed Meri for this supposedly dishonest scam.
Meri said on the episode that she felt her relationship with Kody was “really in turmoil” since the family moved from Las Vegas to Flagstaff in 2018, explaining:
“As we were leaving Las Vegas, you know, as we were getting ready to leave, he said something to me like, ‘This is going to be great for us. ”This is a new chance in our relationship and we can forget everything and start fresh. ”
Oh, that never happened.
“We didn’t even feel like a couple on a date,” Kody said of the pair’s activities in Arizona. “For eight years we were like a completely separated couple on the verge of divorce.”
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10/9 on TLC.
