Buckingham Palace confirmed the sad news on Monday’s X… their rescue dog, a Jack Russell terrier, has passed away.

The royal family’s official X account announced a “sad farewell” along with several photos of the Queen and Beth.
The message continued… ‘The Queen’s beloved companions from @Battersea_Dogs and Cats Home have brought so much joy, whether it’s going for walks, helping with official duties or curling up by the fire 🐾”
Queen Camilla adopted Beth from the group in 2011, but added her offspring again in 2012. king charles iiiwe adopted Bluebell, who is also a Jack Russell Terrier.
The British royal family is known for overseeing many charitable causes, but Camilla has always been a vocal advocate for animal rights causes.
She particularly spotlighted the Battersea Dog and Cat Home on a 2022 episode of ITV’s For the Love of Dogs, which celebrated 160 years of animal protection services.
Camila has also made numerous appearances with the organization over the years.
claire hortonThe former chief executive of Camilla opened up about her relationship with Beth in her 2018 biography, The Duchess: The Untold Story. As a non-profit official said at the time…Bess was “exactly what the Duchess was looking for”.
Despite her royal connections, Camilla needed to receive a home visit check to officially adopt Beth. Claire said Her Majesty did not make a fuss…in fact, she “insisted that she should not receive special treatment”.
The rest, as they say, was history.
