There are plenty of iconic horror classics celebrating important anniversaries this year. One of the movies at the top of that bloody list is tobe hooper‘s texas chainsaw massacre. The 1974 outback slasher defined “grindhouse” movies at the time and redefined the genre for generations to come. Companies have been celebrating the franchise in 2024 with new physical media releases, Funko Pops, apparel collections, action figures, and more. The numbers in question are Leatherface and his brother Navin Sawyer Or, as the audience knows him better, “The Hitchhiker.” NECA has released several figures of the famous killer in the past, but this particular figure is a nod to “Pretty Woman Leatherface” and how the character appears in the final act of the original Nightmare. I’m drawing. These are 8-inch scale figures, and the character’s clothing is made of soft cloth material. Leatherface is seen wearing a suit and a female face mask during the dinner scene and the final chase scene. He comes with his signature yellow chainsaw and slaughterhouse hammer. The hitchhiker, bleeding from his face and arms just like in the movie, carries a straight razor, a bag, and a camera. Pre-orders for both figures began earlier this week in stores and retailers. Scheduled to ship in May 2025.
