Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffman and David Krumholtz have joined the cast of Jeremy Allen White’s Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.
Maron will play Chuck Plotkin, the music producer who mastered Springsteen’s album “Nebraska,” turning raw cassette demos into high-quality records. Hoffman will play Springsteen’s mother, Adele Springsteen, a singer herself who passed away at the age of 98 earlier this year. Krumholtz will play Al Teller, the record label executive who oversaw the release of “Nebraska.”
“Deliver Me From Nowhere” from Disney’s 20th Century Studios follows Springsteen during the making of his 1982 album “Nebraska.” It’s a stripped-down album that marks a creative shift from the anthemic “Born to Run” and “The River.” The movie is currently filming in New Jersey and New York. Springsteen, who is working on the film, visited the set earlier this week and was photographed hugging White.
Deliver Me From Nowhere is directed by Scott Cooper, who wrote the screenplay based on Warren Zane’s book of the same name. The cast also includes Jeremy Strong, who plays Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau, as well as Paul Walter Hauser, Odessa Young, Stephen Graham, Johnny Cannizzaro, and Harrison Gilbertson.
