“This pen is the worst”
Although there is no shortage, mickey mantle Marketplace Signs, Auction Blocks Have Truly Unique Items Lelands …14″ x 20″ cardstock signed 99 times by MLB legends. It contains a special message about the inferior writing implements used by John Hancock.
Decades ago, No. 7, one of the most decorated baseball players to ever step on the diamond, signed Mickey Mantle’s famous autograph for a friend who owned a company that sold statues.
Mantle signed his name on a piece of cardboard 46 times using a black felt fine-tip marker…and then made an audible phone call (I know, wrong sport).
“This pen sucks”…Slugger wrote with an arrow pointing to the sign in front of him.
Without missing a beat, Mickey then continued signing his name an additional 53 times, for a total of 99 times.
FYI, Mantle was known to be a perfectionist and had perfect handwriting. Look at the photo…Beautiful handwriting.
A special item is currently up for bid on the auction block…but it won’t be cheap. The starting point was $10,000, but eventually the item would sell for an exponentially higher amount.
In fact, this card stock has already been bid on 37 times, and the price has already reached $70,000.
Mantle, a 20-time All-Star, three-time World Series champion and three-time American League MVP, died in 1995 at the age of 63. Mickey signed a lot of contracts, especially in his later years…but you’re lucky to find a player with a better backstory than what’s behind these signings.
Good luck! ! !
