With the start of a new month comes a week full of new releases. I mean, there’s a lot of movies. But that’s not all. Netflix is off to a strong start to the month with new seasons of British LGBTQ drama series, new horror, great anime, and YouTube series entering the streamer.
As we enter a new month, there’s plenty of new releases to look forward to, especially considering some of the year’s biggest hits in the movie world are dropping between now and Christmas. Here’s the most complete list of what’s coming up through October 2024.
Top 3 to watch this week
heart stopper (Season 3)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
Internet sensations are hard to convey heart stopper It became. This new season has been a while in the making, but fans will finally be able to enjoy every episode this weekend. The series, based on the novel by Alice Osman, is now in its third season, with new additions to the main cast, led by Joe Locke (currently starring in Agatha All Along) and Kit Connor. A new face and a big challenge are coming up.
platform 2
Coming to Netflix: Friday
platformBelieve me, this movie released on Netflix in 2019 was truly shocking. Not only was it a thoroughly appealing watch with a compelling, if not nauseating, concept, but it also worked beautifully and came in a well-appointed package. So it would be a surprise to see a sequel announced in the next few years, and it’s set to be released as part of Netflix’s major Halloween offerings this year. Making a sequel to that Spanish-language film is a daunting task, but from what we’ve seen so far, director Gardel Gastel-Urutia may have been able to pull it off.
The hiring of new talent like Natalia Tena, a newcomer clocking in at a tidy 99 minutes, will shake up the vertical prison format, and while we don’t know how it will end, some I know I’ll get results and my nails will get shorter by the time it happens.
amazing digital circus (Season 1 – Episodes 1-3)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
As we exclusively reported over the weekend, Australian animation studio GLITCH’s YouTube animated series is making a big move to Netflix, keeping its original home. With hundreds of millions of views, this animated series may look cute, but don’t be fooled. This is certainly not for young children. The series is described as a “psychological dark comedy about cute cartoon characters who hate their lives and want to break up with them.”
All three episodes (including new episodes not yet available on YouTube) will be available on Friday, with more to come.
