Eagle-eyed fans in the One Piece live-action fandom helped identify four new cast members — Daniel Barnett, Fadzai Simango, Richard Gaw, and Marshall T. Bachaman — who were in attendance at the read-through for the live-action One Piece film during Netflix’s Geeked Week event.
The live-action One Piece series has been busy these past few months. With production starting in earnest in South Africa, casting news has been non-stop. This time around, the super detectives of the One Piece live-action fandom X have announced four new cast members. one piece Read the table.
The first actor to be named is Daniel Barnett, who has experience in voiceover, theater and film, and will play Sapi, a fishmonger from Rogue Town who interacts with Sanji.
Fadzai Simango has been confirmed to play Masikaku, a subordinate to Captain Smoker and his first mate Tashigi. The actor recently starred in South African drama Wyfie and played the role of Leash in three episodes of Raided by Wolves in 2020.
Two actors have been confirmed to appear in the second season of One Piece: Richard Gau and Marshall T. Batchaman, but their roles have yet to be revealed, sparking much speculation.
Richard Gaw has an extensive background as a musician and singer-songwriter, leading fans to speculate that he may play the role of Yoki, the captain of the Rumbar Pirates, while others have suggested that he may play the role of Pell, one of Alabasta’s most powerful warriors.
Fans have speculated that Marshall T. Batachamen may be taking on the role of Mr. 1, aka Daz Bones, and a quick Google search reveals that Batachamen’s physique would be perfect for the role.
For now, we will wait for an official announcement from Netflix.
