Paramount Global Content Distribution today announced that it has signed a new licensing agreement with Thailand’s MONO to create a Paramount+ brand extension on the streamer Monomax, scheduled to launch in November.
The deal, which expands Paramount’s strategy to roll out its Paramount+ brand in more ways around the world, was announced Thursday by Lisa Kramer, Paramount’s president of international content licensing and global content distribution, at the APOS conference in Indonesia.
In some regions, such as Japan, the service is a standalone direct-to-consumer product.
In other countries, it exists as a branded destination through licensing agreements. Branded areas are currently available on Cosmote in Greece, Streamz in Belgium, MultiChoice in Africa, JioCinema in India, and are set to launch on Blast TV in the Philippines.
During its first year, the new Paramount+ branded hub will provide Monomax subscribers with access to content from Showtime, CBS Studios and Paramount Pictures, including hit series FBI: International, NCIS, NCIS: Sydney, Mayor Of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Halo, as well as blockbuster hits Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, Hellraiser and the Mission: Impossible series.
“Partnering with Paramount Global Content Distribution allows us to significantly enhance our offerings. Paramount has a fantastic catalogue of content that is consistently popular among Thai audiences,” said Mono CEO Navamin Prasopnet.
“Paramount Global Content Distribution’s core strategy remains focused on delivering the highest quality entertainment to audiences in innovative, accessible new ways across multiple content pillars and genres, and this new agreement with Mono does just that,” said Dan Cohen, Paramount’s chief content licensing officer and president of Republic Pictures.
“The success of Paramount+ branded destinations on streaming services around the world makes it an attractive option for both clients looking to offer in-demand content and grow their subscriber base, and for end users looking to access content within a familiar platform as they scale their business.”
MONO, a well-established media group, is expanding its entertainment business by delivering movies and series that cater to the diverse needs of its viewers. Its flagship digital TV channel, MONO29, is a free TV channel with a large selection of blockbuster movies and hit series.
The company’s Monomax subscription video streaming service offers curated content tailored to Thai audiences.
