Amazon Prime Video has released the first full trailer for the upcoming series, “Crossed.”
Aldis Hodge stars as detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, and the series is based on the novel by James Patterson, introducing the iconic character. In the trailer (which you can watch in full below), Cross must hunt down a killer who has targeted detectives.
“Cross” will premiere its eight-episode first season on Prime Video on November 14. As previously reported, the show has already been renewed for Season 2. In addition to Hodge, the series also stars Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Heard, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold.
Ben Watkins developed the series for television and serves as showrunner and executive producer through his Blue Monday Productions. Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn and Craig Sebels also serve as executive producers, with Patterson, Bill Robinson and Patrick Santa serving as executive producers for James Patterson Entertainment. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost are executive producers for Skydance Television. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, CBS Studios (formerly Paramount Television Studios) and Skydance Television.
If Cross proves popular, it will be Amazon’s latest hit series based on a character from a feature-length novel. The company had a huge hit with Reacher, starring Alan Ritchson and based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. Similarly, Amazon’s longest-running series to date is Bosch, a detective drama based on Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch novels. Titus Welliver stars as Bosch and is currently developing a spinoff series, Bosch: Legacy, for Amazon Freebie. A second spinoff starring Maggie Q as cold-case detective Renee Ballard is also in development for Prime Video.
