Reacher’s Alan Ritchson has revealed that Chris Hemsworth auditioned for the role of Thor before he signed on.
In a new interview with Men’s Health, the actor revealed that he unsuccessfully auditioned for the role of the God of Thunder in the 2011 Marvel movie, admitting that all he was thinking about was whether he would get the role.
“I didn’t take it seriously,” he explained. “I thought, ‘If I looked like that guy, he’d be thrown out of the role. No one would care about acting.'”

However, the casting team informed Ritchson’s representatives that Ritchson did not demonstrate that he had “talent,” and the role was ultimately given to Hemsworth.
Ritchson went on to land bit roles in shows such as Black Mirror, New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as well as a leading role in the DC series Titans, before starring in Prime Video’s Reacher. He won a groundbreaking role as the title character in “.
Filming for Season 3 of Reacher is currently underway, and Ritchson recently hinted that it would take place in Maine.

The star also opened up about the influence of intense training on her role, revealing: You can see how much of that was lean muscle.
“I went from 205 pounds to 235 pounds in eight months. I ate a ton. I can’t believe it was all muscle. I wrecked my body. I ate too much. I didn’t have time to heal.”
