“Ordinary Angels” is a beautiful new movie that brings tears to my eyes just by looking at the trailer.
I’d like to start this week’s review with this question: Do you believe in miracles?
If you’re wondering how many of your fellow Americans believe in miraculous events, research suggests that approximately 80% believe they are true. I want to believe in them too, and I do.
Just like believing in faith, angels, and again miracles, believing or not has nothing to do with whether you wish for something or how often you wish for it and it actually comes true. Not really. One of Garth Brooks’ best songs and biggest hits, the lyrics go, “Thank God for the unanswered prayers.”
Ordinary Angels stars two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (Fatale, The Hunt) as a troubled character who frequently gets lost in a bottle and can’t count. I play a lonely hairdresser. Hilary Swank plays the real-life Sharon Stevens, who was separated during her marriage and is estranged from her adult son. She single-handedly rallies the entire community to save her seriously ill child and her widowed father Ed Schmidt, played humbly by Alan Ritchson (Titans). , & Reacher).
What I’m saying is, bring tissues here, maybe two boxes actually, because Ordinary Angels induces a lot of water work. I shamelessly slumped in my seat, covering my eyes and trying to keep the audience around me from snorting the DL. Let me tell you, it was not an easy job!
This small but mighty film has already grossed $6.5 million at the box office, and though it may sound mundane and corny, Ordinary Angels restores faith in our neighbors. Honestly, I had fun just watching Hilary Swank jump around and mesmerize like a bunny in her burlap sack. I’ve been following her and her impressive career since she co-starred in Beverly Hills, 90210 and The Next Karate Kid. I’ve been hooked ever since…
Alan Ritchson, who plays the perfect ordinary guy, is jacked beyond belief – he needs to hire a trainer. It’s not like he doesn’t eat Wheaties in the morning like I do. Already co-starring in the Fast and Furious series, the man is definitely on to bigger and better things.
Ordinary Angels are gentle, gentle, and carefully crafted. I can’t scream to the heavens enough how much I loved this story. Ordinary angels can easily touch my heartstrings at any time.
