Meghan Markle is really frustrated.
she might even say yes royally I was irritated.
The Duchess of Sussex, who of course stepped down from most of her royal duties when she moved to California about four years ago, attended a panel discussion at the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, on March 8.
Markle, who was recently beaten down on TV by Kate’s uncle, used the session to focus on a different kind of hatred she has endured over the years.
“The bulk of the bullying and abuse I received on social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and Lili and each had a newborn baby,” she told attendees.
Markle says she is almost completely avoiding the internet at the moment for her own “well-being.”
However, she cannot completely insulate herself from what people say about her. Especially when people make crazy claims, like claiming she wants to be friends with Taylor Swift.
Markle went on to talk about her pregnancy and the overwhelming backlash she received during that time.
“If you think about why people hate so much, it’s not just terrible, it’s cruel. And why is it so? [you] Surely you do that when you’re pregnant or have a newborn? ”
I think that’s a very good question.
Thankfully, Markle said her parental instincts kicked in and she ended up helping herself. and her children.
“Because she was pregnant, her mammalian instincts kicked in,” she recalls. She “does everything in her power to protect her child, and in turn protects herself.”
Markle continues to feud with most of Kate and her spouse’s family.
But during the panel, she decided to give Prince Harry a shout-out for how he helped her deal with detractors, haters, and snobs.
“My husband is a very hands-on father and a huge supporter of me and my family, who never takes me for granted,” she said. “It’s truly a blessing.”
The panel was sponsored by the Archewell Foundation, which Meghan co-founded with Prince Harry.
Markle was named the event’s keynote speaker.
At one point, she said something shocking, saying everyone should consider how social media has evolved into a space for women to be heard.
“How much hate are women directing towards other women? It makes no sense.
“The systemic change[of social media and women targeting each other]has to happen at the same time on a cultural level.”
