Tubi, Fox Corp.’s ad-supported streaming service, has hired ad sales veteran Jeff Lucas as chief revenue officer.
Lucas takes over the role from former Tubi CRO Mark Rotblat, who will remain at Fox and focus on adRise, the company’s distribution and monetization platform for connected TV. At Tubi, Lucas will report to Jeff Collins, Fox’s president of advertising sales.
Lucas most recently served as Chief Revenue Officer at Firework, a New York-based video commerce platform with more than 1,000 clients in 37 countries. Previously, he was Head of North American Sales and Global Client Solutions at Verizon Media. From 2016 to 2018, he served as vice president and head of global sales for Snapchat’s parent company, Snap.
Prior to that, Lucas led sales and marketing for all of Viacom’s media networks, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, and before that served as president of advertising sales and marketing for NBCUniversal’s cable group. .
Anjali Sud, who joined Tubi as CEO last year, commented: “Tubi is uniquely positioned to reach this next generation of viewers as advertisers struggle to reach cord-cutters and cord-free audiences with traditional television. Jeff is leading the way in the industry. We are excited to add him to our leadership bench, and he brings a proven track record of bridging traditional media and digital.”
Tubi last week announced a brand redesign with a new visual identity and Sonic ID. Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch highlighted Tubi’s 2023 calendar year performance while announcing the company’s first quarter 2024 results. He said Tubi has increased total viewing time by 62% and revenue by 17%.
In the US, Tubi offers a lineup of over 240,000 movies and TV episodes. The company plans to launch it in the UK this summer, followed by additional European markets.
