We’re all set for another deliciously outlandish performance from everyone’s favorite German arthouse maverick Lars Eidinger (known for: personal shopper, Clouds of Sils Maria, white noise, and on and on)?Okay, strap on. die (dead) A work by German director Matthias Glasner.
In the exclusive first trailer by The Match Factory (see below), Eidinger plays Thom, a Berlin conductor with personal issues to deal with.
dead This is a rare new work from Glasner, who, unlike many prolific stars, has maintained a strict record of his filmography. (His last feature was his 2012 grace) Judging by the trailer and Glassner’s previous work, including his 2006 Silver Bear Award-winning film. free will, dead The film appears to be a powerful combination of melodrama, wry humor, life’s “big questions,” and, given the title, philosophical musings on death.
“The name of the piece is… ‘Dying,'” a nervous composer, played by Robert Gwisdek, tells the orchestra. “That doesn’t matter,” Tom counters. “That’s a problem!!” Gwisdek cries.
The film stars Lilith Stangenberg (wild), Saskia Rosendahl (tradition), Hans-Uwe Bauer (someone else’s life), Ronald Zehrfeld (barbara). Corinna Harhoosh (downfall, Lara) Tom’s abusive mother.
dead It will be unveiled for the first time during the competition of the 74th Berlinale on Sunday, February 18th. Match Factory handles international sales.
